Trade-up calculator

Fill the contract and see every possible result with its odds, float and price, and whether it pays.

10 skins of one grade → 1 skin one grade higher, from the collections of the inputs.

Enter what you actually pay in USD; a blank cost uses the lowest Skinport listing in that exterior, at any float. The result is a model, not a guaranteed profit.

Assumptions and data
  • Prices: Skinport, USD, cash (not Steam Wallet). Inputs: lowest current listing per exterior, any float (–). Outcomes: 30-day sales median with 3+ sales (with the number of sales); else the lowest listing (listing) or Skinport's estimate (est.).
  • est. = no listing right now: Skinport's estimate. A missing price is never counted as zero.
  • Fee: the selling fee you pick comes off every outcome; buying is assumed fee-free (Skinport and CSFloat charge sellers). Typical rates: Skinport 8% (6% above €1,000), CSFloat 2% plus a withdrawal fee.
  • Rules (game data and Valve notes, checked 2026-10-27): odds and the normalised float formula are measured by the community since the 22 Oct 2025 update; Valve hasn't published them. Souvenir inputs may join normal ones since 21 May 2026 (the result is a normal item); this calculator prices normal inputs. Armory Limited Edition items are left out: their trade-up pool is unconfirmed.
  • Doing it: items received in a trade (also bought on Skinport or CSFloat) are Trade Protected for 7 days and can't be used in a contract; items listed on the Steam Market can't be used either. Prices can move in that week.
  • Not known: whether 10 copies at your floats can be bought at these prices, or whether the result sells at its median. Check the listings before buying.

Trade-up ideas to verify

Model estimates for single-skin contracts, after a 8% selling fee (Skinport), priced on 2026-10-28. Open one to enter what you actually pay, your floats and your fee. Prices can change between this list and the calculator.

Inputs: the lowest current Skinport listing in that exterior at any float (inputs priced by an estimate don't qualify), and 10+ sales in 30 days. Outcomes: 30-day sales medians with 3+ sales (10+ for an outcome with a quarter of the odds or more), minus the 8% fee. Cash prices in USD, not Steam Wallet. Each idea is judged at the highest input float that still pays, and the result sits at the worst float of its exterior, which often sells below the median. We don't know whether 10 copies at that float can be bought at this price: low-float copies usually cost more. Bought items are Trade Protected for 7 days before they can go into a contract.

FAQ

How is the output float calculated?

Each input's float is turned into a position within that skin's own range, (float − min) / (max − min). The ten positions are averaged, and the outcome gets that same position within its range: min + average × (max − min).

How are the odds of each outcome decided?

Each input carries an equal share of the odds, spread over the next-grade skins of its collection. Seven inputs from one collection give that collection 70% of the outcomes.

Can you trade up Covert skins into a knife?

Yes, since October 2025: five Covert skins give a knife or gloves from the case of one of the inputs. Five StatTrak™ Coverts give a StatTrak™ knife (no gloves).

The float formula follows community testing; Valve hasn't published it. Normal outcomes use 30-day sales medians; StatTrak uses snapshot reference prices. These are estimates, not executable purchase or sale offers.
